Clinical Biochemistry
The clinical biochemistry department provides an analytical and advisory service at both Northwick Park and Central Middlesex Hospitals.
Samples are referred to the department from hospital inpatients, outpatients and GP practices within Brent and Harrow. Specialist services are also provided to other laboratories within London and beyond.
Description of service
The department analyses in excess of five and a half million tests per year. The large diagnostic repertoire uses a broad range of techniques and includes:
- General biochemistry
- Endocrinology
- Therapeutic drug monitoring
- Metabolic disorders

Patients delivering samples for testing are requested to go to the drop off point at pathology reception level 5, block C, Northwick Park Hospital.
