Marian O’ Connor Lead Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS)

Marian carries out her role as manager to her full potential. She always encourages her colleagues to move out of their comfort zone in order to improve their confidence, knowledge and skills. As well as proving to be a very effective manager, she has retains her clinical focus. This has improved team morale which the patients always comment on.
Marian’s inspiring work expands outside the IBD unit which stretches across Europe. She assisted in setting up the IBD Patient Panel in 2009 and in 2011 was voted chairperson of the Nurses European Colitis and Crohn’s organisation.

Tina has worked for the Trust for 15 Years and has always demonstrated a passion for excellence in her care of patients. She shows warmth, compassion and respect to every individual she interacts with. As a health care worker she shows leadership in her ‘can do’ attitude. She believes that if something needs doing, she has a duty to do it, or to ensure that the matter is handed on and dealt with appropriately by another team member.
People gravitate towards Tina in response to her equitable, calm and upbeat attitude. She is also an amazing role model for SpRs joining the radiology department.
Cross-site Ultrasound Team Sonographers.

The cross-site ultrasound team comprise 18 sonographers who are all committed and hard working. These sonographers are multi-skilled and play an invaluable role in the provision of an efficient ultrasound service.
As advanced practitioners, they independently report over 95% of the ultrasound scans on the same day and cover more than 6200 examinations a month.
Sonographers provide the service at multiple sites including radiology, maternity and Dowland ward at Northwick Park, in ACAD at Central Middlesex and at Pinn Medical Centre.
This is a very loyal team of sonographers and they are a credit to the Trust.
