Visiting times

Please help us to help our patients by adhering to the following simple rules:

Number of visitors

To reduce the disturbance on the wards, we prefer only two visitors at the bedside at any time, unless special permission is granted by the nurse in charge.

General wards

Afternoon: 2.00pm to 4.00pm
Evening: 6.30pm to 8.00pm

Visits outside of normal visiting time are only granted by special permission from the nurse in charge of the ward since rest periods are important for our patients, as is uninterrupted time with doctors and nurses.

We discourage visiting by children under 12. This is to protect vulnerable young people from the possibility of becoming ill themselves and to minimise the risk of bringing infections in from the community. Therefore visiting by children under the age of 12 will be limited to circumstances where it is acknowledged that it would be in the interests of the specific patient and/or the child. All such requests should be in the first instance to be agreed by the nurse in charge of the ward.
