For visitors
Visitors play a very important role in the care and recovery of patients. We encourage the involvement of family, friends and carers while patients are in hospital.
Cleanliness and infection control – for visitors
There are a number of things you can do to help us keep your friend or relative well, and our hospitals as clean as possible. Please see our page about reducing infections for more information.
Do not visit if you are unwell - you should be free of any symptoms for 48 hours before coming to the ward. This includes coughs, colds, vomiting and diarrhoea.
Staying in touch
If you would like to find out about the condition of a relative or friend on one of our wards, it is generally best to arrange for one family member or friend to contact the ward and then let others know.
Please note that for reasons of confidentiality we cannot give detailed medical information over the telephone but staff may be able to give you some general information about the patient’s condition.
Worried?
If you are concerned about someone you know who you think may be in our hospitals, please contact our A&E departments on the following numbers:
Northwick Park Hospital: 020 8869 3087 / 3088
Central Middlesex Hospital: 020 8453 2666
Please note that our staff will do their best to help you but our patient confidentiality rules may mean that it is not possible to give you the information you are requesting.
If you require accommodation
Some of our patients who receive specialist treatment at the Trust may travel from all over the country. If you are a relative that is accompanying a patient and need local accommodation further information can be found here.
