Chris Evans visits St Mark's for the One Show

TV and radio presenter Chris Evans visited St Mark’s and Northwick Park hospitals to put together a package on bowel cancer screening for The One Show on BBC 1.
His aim was to encourage men in particular to get themselves tested for bowel cancer, motivated by the fact that his father and two uncles died of colon cancer because they put off going to the doctor.
As well as talking to patients whose colonoscopies were filmed, he interviewed member of staff about the importance of bowel cancer screening, how to complete a test kit and how a colonoscope works. He also spoke to one of our consultants about alternative imaging for people who are frail or unsuitable for colonoscopy.
