Volunteering
Volunteering at our hospitals
We are extremely grateful to the 500 or so volunteers who provide an invaluable service in our hospitals.
All our volunteers are part of a high profile public service and work very much as part of the NHS team. They make a significant difference to our patients, visitors and staff and their assistance is greatly appreciated.
What can volunteers do?
There are many volunteering opportunities across our hospitals:
- Working in clinics
- Working as a welcomer
- Working in reception areas and offices
- Working as voluntary car drivers
- Gardener
Who should volunteer?
Whichever activity you choose, all we ask is that applicants are able to commit at least four hours per week, for no less than six months of the year and that they are 18 or over.
You need to be friendly and caring, able to communicate well with patients and visitors and co-operate with staff. You also need to be reliable and dedicated, have initiative and discretion.
You will be able to find out more on either day about voluntary opportunities and:
- Speak to staff and existing volunteers
- Ask any questions
- Complete an application form
More details about volunteering opportunities can be found here.
If you would like to attend please email:- kuldeep.kaur1@nhs.net
We look forward to hearing from you.
