Equality objectives 2012/13
From April 2012 every NHS Trust will publish plans to promote a personal, fair and diverse NHS. These are called our equality objectives.
North West London Hospitals NHS Trust has set several objectives based on our assessment of our strengths and development needs.
This is part of our commitment to:
a) Eliminate unlawful discrimination, harassment and victimisation and any other conduct prohibited by the Equality Act;
b) Advance equality of opportunity between people who share a protected characteristic and people who do not share it;
c) Foster good relations between people who share a protected characteristic and people who do not share it
Objective 1: To support staff to provide a personalised service to our service users through training and development opportunities
Objective 2: to ask people from protected characteristic groups about their experiences so as to improve services for everyone
Objective 3: To improve the experiences of staff who are subject to discrimination by strengthening our policies and checking that they are really working
Objective 4: To set up additional employee support networks in order to allow the Trust to formally draw upon the experience and knowledge of our employees
