Our hospitals registered by Care Quality Commission

26-Mar-2010

The three hospitals managed by The North West London Hospitals NHS Trust – Northwick Park, St Mark's and Central Middlesex – have been registered by the Care Quality Commission, the national regulator, without compliance conditions.

These conditions are imposed to address serious issues relating to the safety and quality of care provided by hospitals.

This is the first year in which the CQC has introduced registration for hospitals and some are being required to meet certain standards as a condition of registration.

Fiona Wise, Chief Executive of the Trust, said: “We are delighted that we have been approved for registration without conditions, which sends a message out to our patients, staff and local people that our hospitals are safe places to be treated.

“This reinforces the ‘excellent’ standard we were awarded by the CQC for quality of care earlier this year. This Trust is absolutely committed to the highest standards of patient care and I am pleased to see that confirmed by the regulator.”
